Scandinavian Style: Your Path to Comfort
Share
No one can deny the beauty of Scandanavia nor the beauty of Scandanavian people’s homes. They are very easy on the eye, but what makes them so?
Natural Light
To be dependent on natural light is a must in the Scandinavian style. Windows are usually more than double the size we are used to, and it is all glass, with a very narrow portion of the wood.
Light-colored carpet
A light-colored flooring is one of the first things you can notice in any Scandinavian home. It gives off a feeling of spaciousness and reflects the light that comes in naturally from the windows
Functional
Do not expect to find a lot of items that are not really functional in a Scandinavian home. They are very functional people and that reflects in their home’s style, so if you’re looking up to that style: put functionality on the top of your list.
Wood accents
Not everything needs to be made of wood but wood accents are always highly appreciated in this particular style. Also light-colored.
Comfortable
If you know Denmark, Norway, or Sweden, you’ll know that these countries have tough climates and the comfort of the home is very important, so the cozier the house, the better!
Warm Textiles
We’re talking about comfortable linens, wools, cotton, and every warm textile you can think of! They can be in neutral colors or you can use a pop of color in these textiles to break off the neutral monotony that will naturally make its way to you.
